Based on the famous eponymous comic book by Neil Gaiman The Sandman is a series that evokes the adventures of Morpheus the King of Dreams who must go through many trials in order to rebuild the kingdom of sleep in ruins because of his long absence. One of the biggest surprises of 2022 the series managed to climb into the top 10 most-watched TV shows on Netflix during the month of August .
Which even allowed him to pass at one point in front of Stranger Things with regard to the number of hours of viewing. A feat that convinced the streaming platform to renew the show for our greatest pleasure. However in the press release published by Netflix, there is no mention of a sequel which would take the form of a season 2. The company speaks rather of an indefinite series of episodesto be adapted from several The Sandman graphic novels.Knowing the habits of Netflix we rather expect a second season divided into several parts. A bit like what was done for Season 4 of Stranger Things . Without further ado discover with us all the information relating to season 2 of The Sandman.
With speculation by DCU GUY estimating that filming could kick off sometime in the summer of 2023 there's no way the second season of The Sandman will be available this year. It could even be that the King of Dreams finally returns to the streaming platform with the big red N during the second half of the year 2024 . Regarding the number of episodes we can expect 11 episodes as with the first season. The difference is that this time it is possible that they are organized in several parts. Unless ultimately it's each part that has eleven episodes...
As this statement by Neil Gaiman suggest the same production team should also be renewed I have the immense pleasure of saying that in collaboration with Netflix and Warner Bros, Allan Heinberg David Goyer and myself will bringing even more stories from The Sandman to life . On the other hand no revelation has yet been made on the various actors who will take part in this new adventure. However we can already expect actors like Vivienne Acheamponm Tom Sturrdige Patton Oswalt and Gwendoline Christie to hold their own. If in addition to this it is assumed that most of the characters present in the first season will evolve again in the second season then the likely cast of The Sandman season 2.
Judging by the last episodes of the first season season 2 should be about volumes 4 and 5 of the graphic novel which are titled Season of Mists and A Game of You respectively .Our plans for the second season are the second two graphic novels which technically in this case will be books four and five with some snippets of the short stories from book three scattered among other stuff.
It should be remembered that in the fourth book Morpheus returned to Hell where Lucifer Morningstar was waiting for him . This trip will trigger a chaos that will end with the abdication of Lucifer and the beginning of his new life on Earth in the company of his demons humans can already tremble .The fifth book for its part is centered on the character of Barbie . She makes an unexpected return to the fantastic world of dreams thanks to the assistance of the courier Martin Tenbones. Logicall season 2 will find a way to bring these two stories together for a breathtaking new plot. We can not wait to be there.
