Fans of the Apple TV+ mega-hit series Ted Lasso have been waiting for the feel-good sports comedy’s comeback ever since the season two finale aired way back in October 2021. To celebrate the show’s season three return on March 15th Airbnb is offering an exclusive Ted Lasso-themed stay at the Crown & Anchor the local pub where Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) have bonded over many a pint served up by the assertive-but-lovable pub owner Mae portrayed by Annette Badland, who will be hosting three one-night stays in the decked-out bar. I can't wait to meet fans, who will be utterly delighted and thrilled and share experiences with them Badland tells AD.
The lucky few who are able to nab the reservations will enjoy an overnight stay at The Prince’s Head the real-life version of the Crown and Anchor where the traditional English pub’s exterior shots are filmed (the interior is filmed at a sound stage replica of The Prince’s Head). The wood-paneled establishment will be decorated in realistic memorabilia from the show. Back rooms will be transformed into cozy bedrooms befitting any faithful football fan. But I suspect not many people will sleep Badland says. They'll just be so thrilled to be there that they're going to be up all night doing karaoke and seeing what's on the big telly.
It's a home for people the actor explains of the pub as a concept not just in the show but in real life, too. It's a place where they can just sit and read a newspaper take a long time with their pint or they can go and celebrate. They can drown their sorrows and they'll always have companionship. And I think that's huge.
Apart from singing karaoke and cheering on the local teams (AFC Richmond gear will be provided) Ted-heads will nosh on authentic pub fare and try their hands at some of the other bar activities featured in the show including darts pinball and a game of chess set at Ted’s favorite table. They better not make a mess though. I don't want to be cleaning up after them the actor jokes. If they are well behaved they might just find a biscuit or two as a reward.
Reservations will open on Airbnb on March 21 at 1 p.m. ET for the three one-night stays which will take place on October 23 24 and 25 2023. The booking will only run you £11 (or about $13) per night a reference to the number of players on the football pitch. Come on in Badland beckons in character. The beer ain’t warm!
